ZeroTag

I have been working with the founders of ZeroTag, Joseph and Shim, since ZeroTag’s inception. From Shim’s garage, to winning a Good Design Award.

ZeroTag started as an app and labelling system that helped users organise and reorder groceries whilst mitigating food and pakaging waste.

We wanted to design a system that made refill shopping the most convenient way to shop.

Responsibilities

Multimedia Design, Concept Development

Illustration

A big part of launching a new category is educating the public and investors. I was tasked with figuring out how to communicate this complex solution.

Myself and my team made videos, animations and alot of illustrations. I created the “Tagglets” as a group of characters that helped people understand ZeroTag.

Wall Display

I designed ZeroTag’s wall display for sustainability exhibition and community space, Alleyoop. The design was intended to simulate a drink refill wall commonly found at refill stores like Graina. It also featured a space for the No Bull Bag to showcase how ZeroTag could be used in a retail setting.

Example Brand Project

I first met CEO of ZeroTag, Joseph Yap, at university. At this point, ZeroTag was his final project for his Innovation Design Masters. Joseph employed me as a freelance graphic designer to design example brands for food and drink to be used in his ZeroTag demos. This was a great opportunity as a young graphic design student and it allowed me to experiment with all sorts of different styles of design. I ended up creating 15 brands plus flavour variations. Later on, I developed some into animated logos.

Artist Stickers

We wanted to create a market place for stickers that people could put on their reusable containers.

I created the first artworks and worked with local artists to produce more. I also made designs that integrated with QR codes.

ZeroTag Sticker Marketplace Video

I storyboarded and recorded this short promo for the sticker marketplace with the ZeroTag team.

Directed, Edited & Produced by Kirsten Wijaya Filmed by Mika Wilhelms

Animations

Experimenting with animated logos was a big part of what I did at ZeroTag. I primarily used After Effects.
